ABOUT THE SHOW

Behind the Cutting Edge is a podcast started by my Uncle Bill in 2007. I’m Daniel, his nephew and one of the voices on the show.

With family, friends, and a rotating group of co-hosts, they covered everything from Lost and Breaking Bad to The Walking Dead, movies, and music. The show included editions like Movies with Balls, Ear Hair Vibrations, and Pizza Party.

The show welcomed guests including Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Vince Gilligan, Jonathan Banks, Betsy Brandt, Dean Norris, Charles Baker, and Kelley Dixon for conversations about their work.

On AMC’s Breaking Bad Insider podcast, editor and host Kelley Dixon credited Behind the Cutting Edge as the first podcast about Breaking Bad and one of the shows that inspired her to start podcasting.

Hear Kelley’s shout-out to “the guys in Alabama.”

Then it was LOST.

This archive brings together 298 of those recordings, organized chronologically.

The archive exists thanks to Jon Willing in the UK, who saved the recordings and sent them back to us. Without him, we wouldn’t be able to share these episodes again.

Thank you, Jon, for saving it all and making it possible to listen again.

Great stuff!

This is THE fan podcast for Breaking Bad. For a long time it was the only one, but it's still the best. These guys just sit back, enjoy the show and then chat about it. It's informal, often random but always entertaining. They just love the show and like to talk about it. Listening to this is like sitting in a pub, chatting with old friends.

If you like their style, check out the other Behind the Cutting Edge shows too! All worth a listen.

The ultimate fanzine of breaking bad

This podcast is the fans podcast. Sometimes in a world of their own they celebrate one of THE best TV shows ever made with affection. Led by Bill and with the added pull of one day attaining a 'Nate point' this is the first thing I look forward to when the next episode of Bb has aired.

Other podcasts take note: you dont need to be polished or swanky, you need enthusiasm and you need to care about the subject matter. Under podcast on wikipedia, there should just be a link here.

THE Actual Officially Unofficial Breaking Bad Podcast

In a nutshell, these guys know how to make a podcast about a TV show: Give a nice re-cap, give their opinions on what they saw/ what will happen next, open for comments from listeners, play a fun game about details seen in said episode, be funny and entertaining while doing all of the above, and oh yeah- Be SO GOOD at it, that they get an exclusive interview with Bryan Cranston (MR WHITE himself)!

If you're looking for people who will snobbishly tell you what to think and break every episode down with boring analysis (which is usually like throwing turds at a wall until something sticks)- this is NOT the podcast you're looking for....

But.... if you want real people who really enjoy the series (like you probably do) and share an awesome time together (with you listening, and who knows- participating as well?)... well, you know what I'm going to say next.

Listen and enjoy!

Sincerely,
Bob Suto

Breaking Bad Edition from Behind the Cutting Edge

This is the Father of all the Breaking Bad podcasts, being the first one ever out there (lonely and alone) right from the beginning of Breaking Bad. It was even the inspiration for the official Breaking Bad Insider podcast put out by AMC, after Kelley Dixon heard it and became a fan (see above). Hosted by Bill, Trent and Nate this is a fun listen.

They begin each podcast with Nate’s Popcast Podquiz where Bill and Trent compete to win Nate Points by answering trivia questions about the show (in earlier editions the quiz was done later in the podcast). Listeners can earn Nate Points as well by submitting questions for the quiz. Their approach to the listener experience is that you have three friends over in your living room to talk about the show that they (and you) love.

Don’t expect a linear discussion scene by scene, but lots of free-flowing discussion, along with going off on tangents and lots of humour and anecdotes. You will feel like you made three new friends if you listen to this a few times. They are committed to reading all of the listener e-mails they receive as well as playing listener voice mails – some of their long time fans have become fixtures on the podcast as well.

Going through all of their correspondence leads to the length of the podcast being variable. As a bonus, they were able to get interviews with Vince Gilligan, Kelley Dixon and all of the main actors in the series during Season 4, and these guests also competed in the trivia quiz in these special episodes. Bryan Cranston saying “Eat it Nate” has become one of the iconic moments of this podcast series.
